What is PocketAdvantage?
PocketAdvantage, also known as PA, is a mobile ordering application used at T. Edward Wines by Sales Reps in the field to place orders with their customers. It allows for viewing of Sales History, Overdue Invoices, Item Inventory, Previous Items Bought in addition to the ability to place orders.
PA was developed by Inventiv Software and is utilized across the Alcohol & Beverage Industry by some of the biggest Distributors in the United States including companies like Southern Glazers, Tri Vin and many others. It is a well supported and feature filled application that empowers Sales Reps in the Alcohol & Beverage Industry to fulfill the needs of their customers.
What is PocketAdvantage+?
PocketAdvantage+, also known as PA+, is a real-time mobile notifications application used to receive Order PRECONF and CONFIRMATION messages. This system updates in real time as Orders are Released in Business Central to go to the Distributor for shipment on the shipping date.
When an Order is placed either in PA or manually with the Orders team, once it has been released you will receive a Confirmation Message in PA+ for that order.
What’s the Difference & Why Two Apps?
The biggest difference between the two is how they process and handle the data available in each respective app. PA is a batch system that sends orders into Business Central in Real time but updates the information displayed on a set schedule every day. The Update Schedule can be viewed here. PA+ communicates with Business Central in real-time to receive order confirmations as the orders are released.
PA is the application you will primarily be using only referring to PA+ when you want to check your Order Confirmations. YOU NEED BOTH INSTALLED ON YOUR DEVICE AS THEY PIGGY BACK OFF OF EACH OTHER.
What PocketAdvantage is Not
PocketAdvantage is NOT MobileNAV and does not operate in real-time as mentioned above. This means that if you are unsure about information you are seeing such as Inventory and Item Availability you should reach out to your Sales Manager to confirm the latest information in the system.
PRECONF/CONFIRMATION MESSAGES
As mentioned above PocketAdvantage+ receives two types of order confirmation messages, a PRECONF and a CONFIRMATION message. Understanding the difference between the two is critical to making sure your orders were received and processed by the orders team properly.
